The Watford & District Rifle Club does not have a specific age limit. However, experience has shown that, because of to the size of the handgrips and the weight of the pistols and rifles, it is unusual for anyone under the age of twelve to be able to shoot the guns we use.

During your probationary period, the club would supply all the equipment required (rifles, jackets, mats, gloves, slings, scopes, etc.) and the only cost would be your "green fee" of 2.50 per session for juniors (5.00 for adults) and the cost of any ammunition or pellets you used. Please note that  bullets are supplied in boxes of 50 for 6 and that, until you had a Firearms Certificate, any remaining unused would be stored for you until your next visit. Pellets are supplied in tins of 500 for 8.50.

If you would like to visit the club to "have a go", you would have to be accompanied by a parent or guardian on your first visit so that they could give us formal permission to teach you to shoot.

The club currently meets for smallbore and air weapons shooting on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m. and Sunday mornings at 9:00 a.m.

Please read the Section on Membership.

If you are interested in giving it a try, please contact us using the link above and I will send you an information pack that contains a map and contact telephone number.
