About Watford and District Rifle Club (W&DRC)

Based just outside Watford Town Centre, the club was formed in April 1937 making Watford and District Rifle Club (W&DRC) one of the oldest shooting clubs in Hertfordshire.

We meet for shooting every Tuesday and Thursday evening from 7pm to 9pm and Sunday mornings from 9am to 12:30pm.

Our Shooting Facilities

The two storey heated clubhouse has covered floodlit firing points for both prone and bench rest shooting at 25 yards, 50m and 100 yards plus administration on the ground floor, along with refreshments and Air Weapons on the first floor. Additionally bench rest is shot at 50m and 100 yards from external benches.
Equipment and instruction is made available in all our disciplines.

Our Clubhouse Facilities

There is ample parking, free tea and coffee making facilities, toaster and microwave. There is also an inside unisex toilet.
An equipment set-up room is available with a new kitchen /recreational room above it.

Club Ethos

We are a small non-profit making club with 60 shooting members plus probationers with all income being re-invested in the facilities available to our members.

It is the club’s aim to encourage shooting sports of all disciplines within the confines of the Range Safety Envelope. You can be certain of a warm and friendly welcome whether you are a complete novice or a seasoned veteran.
